To assist this cause, Dr. Gragg has enlisted several colleagues who know the realities of life as a college student-athlete and subsequent life in the NFL/NBA. These individuals can provide student-athletes with a true understanding of what it takes to succeed in college as well as the realities of becoming a professional athlete. Their passion and dedication to make a difference in the lives of others embody the mission of DLG Consultant Group.
- Danielle Beverly – Consultant
Founder of the Eric R. Beverly Family Foundation
Danielle began her professional career in college athletics at the University of Michigan. A former college women’s basketball student-athlete, Danielle holds a B.S. in physical education from Grand Valley State University and an M.A. in sports administration from Wayne State University. She is a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed with the disease at only 29 years of age. Her husband Eric, a 10-year NFL veteran, currently serves as an academic counselor for athletics at the University of Georgia.
- Dr. Galen Duncan – Consultant
Senior Director Player Development, Detroit Lions, (former staff member, Detroit Pistons) Galen will bring great insight to DLG Consultant Group seminars. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services from Lake Superior State and went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and Substance Abuse. He later earned a Ph D. in Health/Sport Psychology at Walden University. He also worked as a Student Affairs Counselor at Wayne State University. His clinical practice has included the NBA Players Association Life Skills Workshops and the NBA Rookie Transition Program.
- Sanya Whittaker Gragg- Vice-President, Administration
No stranger to athletics, Sanya will handle all day-to-day logistical and administrative correspondence for DLG Consultant Group. Her experience in the industry for over 10 years has included working for Nike, the Detroit Pistons, and University of Michigan’s Athletic Department. She earned an undergraduate degree in Marketing from the University of Memphis and received her Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Georgia State University.
- Corey Harris – Consultant
Retired 12 year NFL veteran
Corey retired after a distinguished 12-year tenure in the National Football League, including being an integral part of one of the best defenses in NFL history. Harris played for six NFL teams including the Baltimore Ravens’ Super Bowl 35 championship team. He was drafted by the Houston Oilers in 1992, after an impressive college career at Vanderbilt University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Resources.
- Dr. Renford Reese – Consultant
Full Professor, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona,
(former Division I-A football student-athlete/team captain-Vanderbilt University)
Dr. Reese brings an amazing wealth of knowledge to our team. At a very early age, he realized that he would like to dedicate his life to issues that help people of different races bridge gaps of mistrust. In 1996, Reese received his doctoral degree from the University of Southern California's School of Public Administration. He received both his Master's degree in public policy as well as his Bachelors of Arts degree in political science, from Vanderbilt University. He is the author of American Bravado (2007), Prison Race (2006), Leadership in the LAPD: Walking the Tightrope (2005), and American Paradox: Young Black Men (2004).
